These are several things to be considered when teaching students about conducting or taking part in an interview:
- Interview formats. There are several interview formats e.g., interviewing a celebrity on a entertainment programme or interviewing a politician on a talk show. Students need to be shown examples of interview formats to be able to discern the differences.
- Pre-interview. Before an interview, one must know the purpose of the interview so questions asked are relevant.
- Proper language. During an interview, one must practise good manners and therefore, need to learn proper language used.
- Ending an interview. Students should learn how to wrap up the interview session, obtain phone numbers to contact for further clarification or other networking strategies.
